Once known only for their printed books of business listings for cities all over Canada, Yellow Pages has rebranded itself as YP, adding a host of desktop and mobile-friendly applications to its product offerings. geekspeak is helping YP by creating online content for a variety of rebranding projects. This includes local business stories, category-specific "playlists" to help readers find reputable businesses, product-specific playlists and smart tips.

Compelling Business Stories

For the business stories project, geekspeak assisted YP by profiling various businesses in five major Canadian cities. Our location-based writers and photographers interviewed local business owners and produced engaging stories and images designed to provide the public with an enticing overview of each city. The business stories project proved successful, so much so that YP engaged geekspeak to work on more rebranding projects.

Smart Tips Buying Guides

YP launched a user-centric content marketing initiative to engage audiences and help them connect with local businesses that provide the services and solutions they need. geekspeak worked with YP to develop lifestyle editorial around relevant, useful topics. The result was a series of buying guides covering a wide range of topics and products. Keyword-rich and SEO-enhanced, these buying guides add value to the YP reader experience. They also help YP site users find immediate, local solutions to their search queries. geekspeak produced the guides in both English and French and uploaded them into the YP content management system.

Neighbourhood Profiles

YP recently began producing print publications, such as New Home & Condo Guide and Renter’s Guide. Rebranding the business as YP Next Home, YP’s intent was to offer useful online neighbourhood profiles to prospective home buyers in many Canadian towns and cities. geekspeak’s team of writers and photographers produced illustrated neighbourhood profiles for 12 cities. The style is "friendly blogger meets inquiring journalist", providing well-researched news content about real estate trends and developments from a local resident’s perspective. The profiles give new buyers a starting point when researching areas to buy a new home.

" geekspeak has become a regular publisher for our new, re-branded website. On their very first project they profiled thousands of small businesses across Canada! geekspeak actually delivered above and beyond what we expected, continually surpassing our weekly deadlines and taking stunning photos of each city's hidden gems. But what was most impressive is geekspeak's ability to adapt to unexpected challenges and apply their can-do attitude to anything that’s thrown their way. "
